National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) is a requirement of Universities South Africa
(formerly known as Higher Education South Africa or HESA) to assess academic
learning of first year university students going to secondary school in
specific courses. Its subjects includes: Academic Literacy (AL), Quantitative
Literacy (QL) and Mathematics (MAT)
