The Catholic Church was not happy and said it was false accusations. One scientist named Galileo was Catholic and he made the Pope mad. This led to him being on house arrest and forced to back what he said , but he didn't so he was executed. So basically the Church did not agree with the way things were and tried there best to keep people away from the scientific revolution. Hope this helps if you need more message me!!
