How does the author hope people will change their behavior?

because if the reader is a bad person then it will probably change their heart and if not then thats their problem but if it does then who khows good things may happen in the person and during his or her surroundings. Nobody khows if one bad person changes not by anything else except that book the world can be a whole lot better
