Answer Biuret solution is designed to detect the presence of peptide bond in any sample. Chemically it is composed of potassium sodium tartarate mixed with cupric sulfate and sodium hydroxide. Hair is composed of keratin protein, contain a polypeptide chain in which amino acids are bonded together with help of peptide bond. So keratin will give a positive test for protein.
