If the kite is 500 feet of string how high is it above the ground if the horizontal distance between Tyler and the kite is 300 feet

Pythagorean Theorem:  

500^2 = 300^2 + x^2  

250,000 = 90,000 + x^2  

160,000 = x^2  

x = +/- 400 use the positive root  

height is 400ft
