I would ask that you be more specific then I will edit my answer, but the UN were regularly involved in Peacekeeping in the middle east, especially in Lebanon and Yemen but you may also be referring to the first Gulf War when the US led a coalition labeled as "peace makers" who drove the invading Iraqis out of Kuwait.
