A flagpole cast a shade 35ft long. At the same time a 30ft tree casts a shade 28ft long. How long is the flag pole? Use similar triangles.

37.5 ft

Explanation:

shade pole : length pole = shade tree : length tree

35 :x=28 : 30

28x =30*35

x = (30*35)/28 = (30*5)/4=150/4=37.5
