What are the similarities between essays and poems? What are the differences?

Hiya.

One thing that is different from poems and essays are how they are formed. Poems are used to rhyme while essays are just for reading. Both can give the same amount information.

Essays-

- are more for school (assignments etc.)

- are typically longer

- requires no rhyme scheme

- has no stanzas

Poems-

- artistic

- has rhythm in some way

- have more purpose for for art and nature etc.
