The Great Lakes create by glaciers in the Last Ice Age. The Great Lakes were beginning to form around 14,000 years ago. The ice sheets slowly began to melt as they exposed the land beneath it and filled the basins with melting water. The lakes which formed by the melting of ice were huge with freshwater and interconnected to one another located on the Canada–United States border.
