In Macbeth the third prophecy states that he will not be killed till the trees are close to the castle. This gives him so much confidence based off the fact the the tree line is far away and it would take a long time to move close to the castle. He does not think of the fact that Macduff’s men can use the branches as camouflage. I hope this helped.
