What is 1 1/4 + ( 3 2/3 + 5 3/4)?

The answer is 4 1/12

1 1/4 = 15/12

3 2/3 = 44/12

5 3/4 = 69/12

So, together they are 128/12 =10 8/12 = 10 2/3
