The width of a poster is 8cm less than the length. The perimeter is more than 184
cm. If the length and width are both integers, what is the minimum dimension for
the length?

Answer:

Denote the length is a, then the width is a - 8.

The perimeter is more than 184:

=> 2 x ( a + a - 8) > 184

=> 2a - 8 > 92

=> 2a > 100

=> a > 50

=> a = 51

=> Minimum dimension for the length: a = 51
