As such,

X^2=1 to find x find the root of both sides

X = √1

X = -1 or 1

Going by this

4x^2=1

Divide both sides by 4

X^2=1 /4

taking the square root of both sides

X = √1/4

The root of 1 is -1 or 1 while that of 4 is -2 or 2 hence,

X = -1/2 or 1/2
