Why does NH4+ not undergo hydration?

Hydration is defined as a reaction in which a chemical compound will react with water and have different products. In the case of NH4+, according to many sources, this compound will react with water in a reaction called Hydrolysis, in which the reaction will be the following:

NH4 + H2O -> NH3 + H3O
