To multiply fractions, you have to multiply both numerators and both denominators as follows:

[tex]\frac{4}{5}\cdot\frac{1}{2}=\frac{4\cdot1}{5\cdot2}=\frac{4}{10}=\frac{2}{5}[/tex]
