The piece of sculpted roman glass that was named after one of its owners, Margaret Bentinck, an english Duchess, is Portland Vase. It is a 1-25 CE glass and it was made by the dip-overlay method, the cutting was probably performed by a skilled gem-cutter, there is an amazing degree of detail as we can see from the four-figures and a tree-like plant.
