A square is a quadrilateral polygon with 4 sides of EQUAL length and 4 angle of EQUAL measurement (all 90 degrees).
A rectangle is a quadrilateral polygon with 4 sides and 4 angles of EQUAL measurement (all 90 degrees).

So a square is uniform throughout, with everything the same, but a rectangle can be longer or wider, but their angles must still be right angles.
