6feet man casts a 2.7 feet shadow at the same time a tree casts a 11.4 feet shadow. how tall is the tree?

You can set this up as a proportion.

6/2.7=x/11.4

Cross multiply.

2.7x=68.4

Divide by 2.7 to solve for x

25.3333=x

The tree is 25 and 1/3 feet tall
