Joseph Stalin died in 1953, after his deteriorating condition from atherosclerosis,or accumulation of white blood cells in the arteries of the body, set him at risk. The fact that he suffered a stroke, and later, a severe heart attack in October of 1945, leading to his demise at age 74.
