As we know that since there is no external force on the system of two cars

so we can say that momentum of two cars will be conserved

[tex]F = 0 = \frac{\Delta P}{\Delta t}[/tex]

so here we can say

[tex]\Delta P = 0[/tex]

so we have

[tex]P_i = P_f[/tex]

[tex]m_1v_{1i} + m_2v_{2i} = (m_1 + m_2)v[/tex]

[tex]1000(66) + 2000(0) = (1000 + 2000)v[/tex]

[tex]v = 22 m/s[/tex]

so we can say that final speed of both cars will be 22 m/s
