The point at which a line intersects the x axis is also the point where y=0. Therefore, we can set the equation to 0 and solve it.

[tex]y= \frac{-2}{5}x+12 \\ \frac{-2}{5}x+12=0 \\ \frac{2}{5}x=-12 \\ 2x=-60 \\ \boxed{x=-30} [/tex]
Therefore, it intersects the x axis at (-30,0)
