Administer odansetron prior to
administering the 5-fluorouracil. The nurse should give or administer
odansetron before giving the 5 fluorouracil because it is a medication used to
prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy,
or surgery and it is also useful in gastroenteritis.
