Sentinelese, also known as Northern Sentinel Islanders or Sentineli, occupies the Andaman Islands in the southern part of India. The total population of the tribe is currently unknown but its estimated range is from 40 or fewer. Several attempts were conducted by the Indian Government to contact this tribe but all of it were unsuccessful. The Indian Government ended the Contact Expeditions in 1996 due to series of hostile incidents.
