The cosine of an acute angle in a right triangle  is the ratio of the length of the adjacent side to the length of the hypotenuse.

cos(22°) = x/11    ⇒   x = 11×cos(22°)

x = 11×cos(22°) = 11×0.9272 ≈ 10.2 units
