A-disruptive selection (selection acts against individuals in the middle of the trait distribution, two extremes create their own smaller curves)
B-directional selection (selection is against one extreme of the trait, distribution shifts toward the other extreme)
C-stabilizing selection (selection is against the two extremes of a trait, maintaining medium value).
