Cervicitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the uterine cervix.
Cervicitis is usually inflammation as a consequence of an infection spread during sexual activity. If it is acute cervicitis it involves a sudden onset of symptoms. On the other hand, chronic cervicitis lasts for few months. Some of the symptoms are abnormal vaginal bleeding, persistent grey or white vaginal discharge that may have an odour, vaginal pain.
