Divide both sides by 3

Add a to both sides
[tex] \frac{2y}{3} + a = 2x[/tex]
Divide both sides by 2
[tex] \frac{2y + 3a}{6} = x[/tex]
The answer is [tex] x = \frac{2y + 3a}{6}[/tex]
